My theology of Snowdays:
They are a gift from God who loves us and celebrates beauty.
They are to be anticipated with great expectations.
With busyness banished, they are a day of rest.
They make me laugh and smile all day long; my prayers of heartfelt thanks.
They lead me to hot chocolate.
They restore my soul.
They are best enjoyed vigorously outdoors, followed by cozy indoors. (Even if the vigorous outdoor enjoyment is chasing your speedy little dog through the neighborhood.)
naps, while optional, are encouraged.
a good book couldn't hurt!
Friends make a great day even better.
See what I mean? I love Snowdays! S-a-b-b-a-t-h or S-n-o-w-d-a-y? Which one makes your heart beat a little faster with love for God and all God's world?
Mmm-hmm. I thought so. Me, too. "Snowday" definitely edges out Sabbath in the race for "most joyfully anticipated day." I may need to change my approach to Sabbath.

Perhaps I have caught a glimmer of what it means to really "remember the Sabbath and keep it holy?"

Love this! I need to rethink my thoughts on the Sabbath too, because these last two snow days have forced me to stop my busy schedule and focus on my family, home, etc. (Although I definitely could have done without the 15 hours we didn't have power!)
